Bill Marshall

Bill Marshall is Professor of Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Stirling, Scotland, having previously held posts at the Universities of Southampton and Glasgow, and served as the Director of the Institute of Modern Languages Research in the School of Advanced Study, University of London. He is the author of:Victor Serge The Uses of Dissent (1992), Guy Hocquenghem: Beyond Gay Identity (1997), Quebec National Cinema (2001), André Téchiné (2007), and The French Atlantic: Travels in Culture and History (2009). He has also edited books on Musicals – Hollywood and Beyond (2000), Montreal-Glasgow (2005), and a three-volume Encyclopedia on France and the Americas (2005). His current project is on the ‘Uses of Prehistory’ in modern and contemporary French culture
