Chris Robé

I am an associate professor of film and media studies at Florida Atlantic University and the author of Left of Hollywood: Cinema, Modernism, and the Emergence of U.S. Radical Film Culture (2010) and Breaking the Spell: A History of Anarchist Filmmakers, Videotape Guerrillas, and Digital Ninjas (2017). More details can be found on my faculty webpage: https://www.fau.edu/artsandletters/scms/faculty/robe/.

My current book project concerns the relationship between digital media activism and state repression pertaining to animal rights campaigns, counter-summit protesting, copwatching, and anti-Muslim surveillance. I am also very interested in speaking with people who were/are a part of the Mosireen Collective. If you happen to be involved in any of these struggles, feel free to contact me at crobe@fau.edu

There are so many interesting projects out there that need to be more thoroughly addressed. Don’t be shy. Make your work known and spread the word with those of us who value radical media making.
