Culture wars: some new trends in
art horror
Joan Hawkins teaches Film Studies in the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University Bloomington. She has written one book, Cutting Edge: Art Horror and the Horrific Avant-garde (University of Minnesota Press, 2000), as well as numerous essays on horror, the 1960s avant-garde, Downtown Cinema, performance art and the cultural politics of exhibition. She is currently editing an anthology on Downtown Cinema, 1975-2001.
